TSIMANE – HOME OF THE 'GOLDEN' DORADO
AGUA NEGRA, SECURE, PLUMA – BOLIVIAN FISHING LODGES
WhereWiseMenFish Hosted Trip 16-23 July 2016 - Enquire for Details
Tsimane is located within a Bolivian National Park, where the Amazon jungle meets the Andes Mountains. This indigenous Indian Territory offers not just incredibly wild and remote landscape but serpentine rivers, with gin-clear headwaters, that thread their way amidst the mountains and through the dense jungle. Anglers have the opportunity to fish within this incredible wilderness for two different species of Dorado as well as the Pirapitinga Amazon Pacu and the Yatorana, both formidable game-fish in their own right.
Tsimane blends, like few other sport fishing destinations on Earth, the greatest aspects of fly fishing: sight casting, freestone wading, light-tackle, floating lines; majestic sceneries, mountain rivers with clear, virgin waters; and four extremely exotic species of game-fish of significant size and fighting capabilities.
This is Tsimane in nutshell - a combination of unique environments in an ancient jungle setting with wild exotic fish, making for an overwhelmingly unique and exciting wilderness fishing adventure.
TSIMANE - NATURE & THE ENVIROMENT
Millions of butterflies of impossible colors flitter in the warm breeze, the rumor of hundreds of hidden birds and animals resound from the depths of the jungle. Jaguars prowl amongst the undergrowth. This jungle environment remains in an absolute virgin state and offers as close an insight into a 'Pandorian' world from the film Avatar!
Tsimane's operational area is about 125 miles (200km) from the Capital City La Paz and 270 miles (470 km) from Santa Cruz de la sierra Tsimane’s base point and the most important city in the Country.
The magnificent fishing at Tsimane has been developed with the experience gained from the widest portfolio of experiences available; ranging from the Russian tundra, the pristine clarity of Icelandic salmon rivers, remote atolls of the Seychelles and the wind-swept lands of Tierra del Fuego. Tsimane draws from all of these whilst at the same time offering a totally unique experience.
The corner-stone experience of Tsimane is fly-fishing for huge Dorado, in small, clear-water freestone rivers. Dorado are known for their incredible acrobatic skills when hooked, voracious appetites and aggressive nature. Regardless of these traits fishing in these rivers is as exciting as it is challenging. Every pool and run needs to be assessed, a strategy with the guide concocted and relativly precise delivery of casts delivered to maximize your opportunities. Despite the challenges, anglers can fish light with floating lines a wallet of leaders and a few flies. You are stalking the fish not plumbing the depths!
The FISHING LODGES
Tsimane Pluma Lodge
The Tsimane Pluma Lodge experience is based on one very comfortable jungle lodge, built entirely from sustainable wood, cut from the nearby jungle. There are also two smaller headwater out-camp options, on the upper Pluma River and on the upper Itirizama River, one of the main tributaries to the Pluma. The main Pluma Lodge features four log cabins and sleeps up to eight anglers.
Tsimane Secure & Agua Negro Lodges
The Tsimane Secure & Agua Negra Lodge’s experience is based out of two very comfortable jungle lodges. The Secure Lodge also has a remote out-camp option in its headwaters to maximize the time on the river. Agua Negra also operates a new out-camp located in an unspoiled virgin area on its headwaters. Both the Secure & Agua Negra lodges and their out-camps are suited for no more than 4 anglers at one time in a split rotation program.
